“We have been taught to fear the very things that have the potential to set us free.”
― Alok Vaid-Menon

”Julie Jean Kristin Bird,” created and performed by Marguerite French, is a prismatic exploration of gender through the glass of August Strindberg’s “Miss Julie”. Diving into different characters as facets of one consciousness, the solo performer smashes media and senses to illuminate the many channels that make up oppression — and the reflected possibilities of liberation.

“Julie Jean Kristin Bird” is not a typical “Miss Julie” adaptation; it is a reclamation.

Julie Jean Kristin Bird runs 45 minutes and will be performed without an intermission.
