Rooted in Latin culture, a quinceañera traditionally celebrates the transition from girlhood to womanhood. So what happens when the honoree is not a girl celebrating her 15th birthday, but a queer, nonbinary, Latinx performance artist celebrating their 30th? At Coin & Ghost, we think the answer is quite obvious.
From the bizarre genius behind Queer Disney Drag Karaoke Extravaganza Spectacularanza and Pequeños Sueños comes JOEY’S QUEERNCEAÑERA, a performance event of gigante proportions!
Will there be drag, burlesque, dance performances, and games? Absolutamente.
Will there be tacos and dranks? Claro que si!

Our project, “The Butler Did It,” was named RUNNER UP for the Invitational’s Grand Prize (as voted upon by a panel of immersive theatre and themed entertainment experts)! But as we like to say: we don’t do theatre for the awards — we do it exclusively for the money.
