(Workshop) CE399

“CE399”
Created and Performed by Zachary Reeve Davidson
Directed by Roger Guenveur Smith
World Premiere: Bootleg Theater, LA, 2015

As the dust settled after the assassination of JFK, the country shook with trauma. The ensuing manhunt resulted in the least satisfying answer in American History: Lee Harvey Oswald, lone assassin.

Alone onstage, wearing a fur-lined earflap hat and a “Kennedy for President” t-shirt, Zach Davidson portrays everybody’s favorite assassin in the only way he knows how: brutal, irreverent, and mythic.

This project — named after the Warren Commission’s exhibit number for the “magic bullet” — premiered as part of the One on One series at LA’s Bootleg Theater, and was directed by award-winning solo performer, Roger Guenveur Smith (Rodney King, A Huey P. Newton Story, Frederick Douglass Now).
